Speaker Profile

John Basco John Bascoe

As a kid growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, John always sensed a deep longing for meaning and purpose. He found it early in a relationship with Christ. For several years as a young adult, John learned and taught the love of God. But eventually, he wanted to see if he could find purpose outside of Christ.

He joined the US Army and served his country in Iraq. He started a family and had kids. But for almost 20 years, his life spiraled from one selfish low point to another, including several hard lessons and deeply painful tragedies. As God allowed John to have the life that he wanted, he reached the point of hopelessness and wondered how God could ever accept him back as a son.

Yet, through the years of pain, God had preserved John’s faith. He came to see that he had forgotten his first love, and in a state of despair and addiction, John cried out to God. What he found was not a harsh judge waiting to exact a pound of flesh for rebellion but a loving Father who was overjoyed that His son had come home.

Today, John wants the entire world to know the Love of God - to see that they are accepted in the family of God, that salvation is a gift offered to all who will accept it, and that Christ desires nothing more than to have a life-changing relationship with them. John says, “I want the world to see that God will accept them however they are, however filthy, however addicted, however depressed…but He will never leave them that way. The Love of God heals us and changes us.”
